The value of a volunteer is immeasurable!
When we have the opportunity to tell a visitor or Wilmington resident one thing about us, it would be that Cape Fear Museum is your museum.
In March of 1898, the United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC) first opened the Museum in one room on the second floor of the Wilmington Light Infantry’s (WLI) building. Since its founding, the Museum has moved around the city.
The Museum sells a small selection of merchandise including Simmons Sea Skiff Boat Plans, Freakers and Freaker Feet.
